TAMI SCHOLARSHIP 2004

The 2004 annual scholarship/turkey dinner was held at the Italian Community Center on November 18th of this year. This is our only fund raising event to support the annual scholarships that are awarded. The present recipients are Mr. Ryan Plantz, in his third year at the University of Wisconsin, Madison; Mr. Nicholas Jacob in his second year at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater; and Ms, Kristin Kelm in her first year at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Each recipient receives $500.00 annually to help offset the costs of their education.

This year we have added another $635.00 to our scholarship account through the generosity of our members and guests in the purchasing of raffle tickets and in cash contributions. The scholarship received cash contributions from Tom Plantz of Bennett Transportation and Jim Regan of Central Transportation Int'l, Inc. Raffle prizes were donated by the following individuals and companies:

  • Brahm International Inc. - Del Brahm and Paula Hubbard
  • Custom Freight Management - Ron Neumuth
  • Fred Honkamp Sales - Fred, Kim, and Steve
  • IMC Global - George Murphy
  • Krenz & Hannan International Inc - Brad Schewe
  • Fred Honkamp Specialized Carriers - Fred Honkamp
  • Krenz & Hanna International - John and Thomas Krenz
  • Jerry Le Sage
  • Siva truck/ Driver Leasing - Karen Kaczmarek
  • Sybaris Suites
  • Vitran - Tess Pflug

The scholarship applications will be mailed to all active members and retirees after the first of the year. The scholarship is open to any member, member's child, grandchild, or Spouse that will be attending a university, technical school, or college. Please have your application returned to the club office by February 15, 2005. We would like to recognize the recipient at our recognition dinner.

On behalf of our students, I would like to thank everyone who came to the dinner, donated raffle gifts, and bought tickets for our kids. I look forward to next year's Scholarship/Turkey dinner in November, and remind you that the applications will be mailed after the first of the year - and must be in the club office by February 15, 2005.
