There is an old saying that wine is
the only thing that gets better with age but they forgot about RICK FRANCO’S bowling. Rick
has bowled in the Transportation Club League for many years and always
held a 165 to 170 average but the 600 series were few and far between.
Now Rick is retired, is 83 years old, but continues to bowl in a
55 years or older league at South Park Lanes in South Milwaukee on
Monday’s at 9:30 a.m. Before
the season started Rick was using a 15 pound ball which he thought was
getting a bit heavy so he stopped at the pro shop and was advised to
change to a 12 pound ball. Rick
hesitated thinking that might be too light but then went along with the
pro. On December 3rd,
in league play, Rick rolled a 704 series which included games of 215,
267 and 222. It was his
first 700 series and he had a gallery in his final frames.
Congrats and we hope you can duplicate the 700 series.
DICK BAXTER was bowling
regularly but his health gave way and he is now unable to bowl and walks
with a cane. LOWELL WAITE who worked
in the traffic department at Ladish Company and General Electric has
retired and is living in Plano, Texas.
His son still resides in the local area.
JIM PEAVLER and his wife Virginia always migrate to Florida this time of
year but were unable to take the trip this year due to his wife’s
illness. BILL LEVINE is starting a new year on January 18th when
he adds another year to his total.
Congrats to Bill and many more.
JIM KINCAID and Ruth
Ann returned to our area to spend the holidays with their family. They plan on returning to Florida shortly after the holiday
season. RUSS SEARING had rotator cuff surgery during the Christmas season
and is now going through rehab. Presently
he is not permitted to drive. Russ’s
wife Barbara fell at home and hurt herself extensively.
She had a fracture beside her eye, damaged her sinus, broke her
finger and had to have her arm in a cast for an extended period of time.
Barb is under new treatment for her long existing ailment.
JIM MCMAHON got a good
report from his doctor who gave him permission to go to Florida.
We all hope Jim has a great time in the Sunshine State.
DEL TREIGHLER and Margie will be moving very shortly.
They are moving back to the area which they vacated a few years
ago. They want to be near
their daughter who has some health problems. RALPH BICKLE
advises that Colorado has had a lot of snow which has been good for the
tourist skaters but has caused many travel problems for the local
people. Some of the
highways have been shut down. GARRY VADER and his wife Skipper took a trip to Branson, MO and had
a wonderful time. They had
never been there before and enjoyed many of the shows.
The most enticing was the Andy Williams and Dolly Parton shows.
The Dolly Parton show was a six course dinner show but the dinner
was served with no silverware. You
had to use your hands to eat. The
town of Surprise, Arizona where they live has grown from 4,000 people in
the year 2000 to 110,000 today and still growing.
The traffic is brutal and the roads can’t handle the volume.
JIM WILIMERING advises
that he is planning on extending his contract with the Brewers to
include 2008. To everyone,
a healthy and happy new year and may all of your wishes come true.
Love turns one
person into two and two into one.

intended to make us better not bitter.

walk away.

thoughts are toll-free!
