2007 Scholarship Award

Earlier this year the scholarship committee met to review the applications of the 2007 scholarship recipients.  The process for the determination is a review of the applicants, not knowing the name of the applicant or how they are affiliated with our organization.  The panel of three reviews each application and then an open discussion is conducted on each one to determine the best qualified.  What seems to be a very simple process has taken several hours at times because of the qualifications that are presented to the committee.

This year’s recipient is Michael Donovan, the grandson of Bob Donovan.  Michael will receive $500.00 for the next four years as he maintains the 3.0 grade point average that is required.  We wish him the best of luck in his education goals.

The fourth year check was sent to Kristin Kelm, the granddaughter of Russ Kelm.  The third year check was sent to Elizabeth Baers, the granddaughter of Elmer Alexy.  The second year check was sent to Marie McFarland, the granddaughter of Jerry Le Sage.

It is a great feeling that we have four students receiving our scholarship award. The only fundraiser for our Scholarship Award is coming up in November at Clifford’s Supper Club, 10418 W Forest Home Avenue in Hales Corners.  Look forward to the great food and lively fellowship as we support the scholarship fund.  We hope to have greater raffle prizes including two nights at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Sybaris Suites, and other great donations.  Watch for the scholarship/Turkey dinner flyer in October.
