Earlier this year the scholarship committee met to review the
applications of the 2005-2006 scholarship recipients. The
process for determination is a review of the applications, not
knowing the name applicant, and then an open discussion is conducted
on each one to determine the best qualified. What seems to be
a very simple process has taken several hours at times because of
the qualifications that are presented to the committee.
This year's recipient is Elizabeth Bares, the granddaughter of
Elmer Alexy. Elizabeth will receive $500.00 for the next 4
years as she maintains the 3.0 grade point average that is
required. We wish her the best of luck in her education goals.
The fourth year check was sent to Ryan Plantz, the son of Tom
Plantz, who is completing his last year at UW Madison. The
second year check was sent to Kristin Klem, the granddaughter of
Russ Klem, who is in her second year at UW Eau Claire.
Unfortunately, our third recipient did not maintain the 3.0 average
per our requirements, but is in the fourth year of education at UW
Whitewater.
The only fund raiser for our Scholarship Awards is coming up on
November 16th at Clifford's Supper Club, 10418 W Forest Home Avenue
in Hales Corners. Look forward to the great food and lively
fellowship as we support the scholarship fund.
