Once again I would
like to welcome you to another issue of NOIBN in our president’s
absence. I hope you are
as proud as I to be a member of the oldest transportation association
in the country. As usual
I have a few favors to ask.
Every organization has
a problem with membership. Every
organization has a problem getting and maintaining members.
People simply have more than one hat to wear at work.
Then they have many obligations with family and friends.
AND there is that old requirement to stop and smell the roses.
So everyone just is short of time.
Could you invite just
one more company or individual to join TAMI?
It is always much more fun and rewarding when we have a greater
number of people taking part in meetings, outings, dinners or
fundraisers. Let’s all
give this a whirl.
Could
you spare about an hour or perhaps an hour and a half with snacks for
a board meeting once a month—and not in the summer?
The board recently acted to eliminate board meetings in the
summer vacation months. Please
consider being an officer or board member.
We will sincerely appreciate fresh ideas.
Each month one of the participants brings snacks, so nobody
goes home hungry. We will
have elections coming up early next year.
Please consider, when a nominating committee member calls.
Lastly, please keep
the following dates open and attend with relatives, friends, customers
and neighbors: November
3, 2007 is our Ho-Chunk casino outing; November 14, 2007 is our annual
Thanksgiving/Scholarship dinner; December 15, 2007 is our annual
Christmas party; still to be firmed up in February is our annual
dinner. If you do not
have all details about any of these functions, please look at earlier
issues of NOIBN, or contact any one of our board members.
Sincerely,
DEL BRAHM
NOIBN Director
