Committed to Being the Best

FALL
2006

President's Message

By Ed Unke

Being a procrastinator at heart, I just realized that the holidays are drawing near.  I want to take this opportunity to wish all our members, retirees and all who happen to read this newsletter the best for the upcoming holidays, including good health, happiness, and peace.

Our Scholarship Fundraiser turkey dinner was a success this year, with an increase in attendees from last year.  The food, in my opinion, was the best I can remember in recent years, and I’d like to personally congratulate the co-chairpersons, Jerry LeSage and Karen Kaczmarek, for a job well done.  I hope everyone had as good a time as I did.

The Children’s Christmas party was also well attended, and an overall success.  Hats off to Jim McMahon for a job well done, as usual.  Thanks also to all who donated time and/or donations to this wonderful event.

Remember, TAMI is still looking for members who have some time to serve as officers on the Board of Directors, as well as new members.  Once again, I ask for all members to just recruit one person into our club.  Dues are reasonable, and the networking opportunities can be very rewarding.

Stay tuned for more upcoming events, including our annual Recognition Dinner, scheduled for Feb. 28th, 2007 at the Porterhouse on 8th and Layton.  Del Brahm and I are looking for a “knock your socks off” speaker, and I encourage all to attend.

Until next time, wishing all the best to all for the upcoming season, as well as a happy, prosperous New Year.

Congratulations, Rachel And Del!

Once again, TAMI’s newsletter, the NOIBN, has taken national award status, thanks to both Del and Rachel Brahm’s hard work and dedication.  In this year’s TCI competition, our publication not only received the second place award, but won second

place for the website publication as well.  Del, as chairman, and Rachel, as both editor and webmaster, are both well-deserved in accepting these awards. The annual TCI competition boasts entries from hundreds of transportation clubs from all over the country.
