Attitude is Everything as we
Age
Optimism and an ability to “roll
with the punches” may be the keys to successful aging, a new study
suggests. 500 people between the ages of 60 and 98 years of age
were asked what constitutes successful aging. The findings
suggest that physical health is not the best indicator of successful
aging, a good attitude is.
Summer Fun – Summer Hazards
Heat exhaustion, heat stroke and
heat cramps can strike suddenly if your body is exposed to high
temperatures for an extended period of time. Remember to:
1. Drink enough fluids in hot
weather to rehydrate your body
2. Wear light-colored, loose
fitting clothing made of breathable fabric
3. Exercise in the early
morning or late evening when it is cooler
4. Wear sunscreen
5. Allow yourself time to get
used to the higher temperatures
6. Talk to your doctor if you
have a chronic medical condition or are taking certain medications.
They might affect your ability to work out doors in hot weather.
Keep Cool!
