Why do I need Calcium?

Calcium is vital for bone health and it is also needed for other bodily function such as regulating your heartbeat, conducting nerve impulses making muscles contract and helping your blood clot.  The daily recommendation is 1,000 milligrams for adults up to age 50; 1,200 milligrams for ages 51 and older.

Cataracts

What is a cataract?  It is the clouding of the natural lens located inside the eye behind the pupil and iris.  This lens is made up of mostly water and protein and works like a camera lens.  As we age some of the protein may clump together and start to cloud an area of the lens.  This is called a “cataract”.  As the clouding advances it can blur and glare vision and can inhibit day functioning.  The only effective treatment is to make an opening in the eye to surgically remove the cloudy lens and replace it with a tiny permanent lens implant.   Contact your eye care specialist regarding your options.

Got Bad Breath?

The way to get rid of bad breath for most of us is to brush, floss and tongue scrape twice a day.  Yes the key to fresh breath is tongue scraping.  You can brush and floss all day but unless you get way back, it won’t help.  Tongue scrappers are available at most drug stores.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an interior designer, a nurse in Viet Nam (that shows my age), a mother and a baseball player.

I am a Mom, but I never believed I would be in the Transportation industry, let alone actually have a CDL license.  I guess the best thing is I am happy.

So what did you want to be?
