Having 16 weeks for great golfing weather, the
Monday night golf league ended in a three week playoff for the
bragging rights until next year. In a head to head team
playoff, it came down to the traditional 18 hole match between the
teams of Fred Walendowski and Jerry Le Sage against Bob Madden and
Mark Clark. In an event were it seemed that neither team
wanted to dominate the scoring, the team of Walendowski and Le Sage
came out on top in winning 13 of the 18 holes.
The last nights events were ended with several
hole events, a light lunch, door prizes and a short meeting on next
years return.
The league presently consists of 8 two man
teams playing in a 100% handicap system to even out the
scoring. The league plays on Monday nights at Silver Spring
Country Club beginning late April and ending in early
September. The play rotates on the 4 different courses to keep
it interesting and more enjoyable than playing the same course every
week. We are always looking for more golfers that want to get
out more than three or four times a year and have a good time.
